From the New Member Director...
Hi! My name is Emerson Dao, and I have the pleasure of serving as this semester’s New Member Director, better known as Mom! Coming into college, I was searching for a home away from home, and Sigmas gave me exactly that and so much more. Through Sigmas, I have met some of the most uplifting and supportive women, and I truly cannot imagine my life without them. I am beyond grateful for the memories and sisterhood Sigmas has given me, and I am so excited to help create that same experience for each of you. My biggest advice during rush is to be yourself and step outside of your comfort zone. As your New Member Director, I promise to always be there for you and love you endlessly! I cannot wait to meet my future kiddos and welcome you into the best sisterhood <3

What is "rushing"?
Rushing means attending our social events throughout rush week. No need to commit, just come out and get to know our sisters and connect with new people!
When is rush week?
Rush week happens after the first week of school starts. Rush week for the Fall 2024 semester is from August 26-30.
How much does it cost to rush?
All the events we host during rush week are free of cost & rides will be provided!
What is a bid? How do I get one?
A bid is an invitation to join our everlasting sisterhood. To qualify for a bid, you must attend at least 2 rush events, complete an application and an interview.
How will I balance my school work & the sorority?
Sigma Phi Omega values academic excellence and prioritizes each of our sisters' education. You will also have us to provide you with any assistance on your classes. We offer multiple resources to assist you on your homework and exams. Joining a sorority requires time management, but you won't be alone as long as your sisters are with you!
What are benefits can I gain from joining Sigmas?
Joining Sigma Phi Omega will provide you a variety of benefits within your time in college and onwards. Not only will you discover a lifelong sisterhood, but it will also allow you to develop leadership, social, learning and networking skills.
